The Dangers of Workplace Digitalisation for Collective Rights:
Beware the Siren Songs
Digitalization presents seductive "siren songs" of efficiency that often mask the erosion of collective labour rights and the intensification of employer surveillance. The challenge is not to say "no" to technology (which is not a realistic option) but rather to say "not like this" to the power that stands behind it. A framework of technological humanism must include explicit bans on technological strike-breaking, mandatory transparency of algorithmic management, and the reinforcement of trade-union tools and collective action.
