  An assessment of the rights and protections aff orded to platform workers

  This paper begins by exploring the concept of platform work; it then outlines the importance of employment status in determining the rights afforded to platform workers; it then analyses the legal issues facing those working in the platform economy; and the paper concludes by analysing whether it is possible for platform workers to engage in collective bargaining.
